В українському національному календарі дата 22 січня посідає одне з провідних місць , оскільки Україна відзначає День Соборності, приурочений до Акту об'єднання Української Народної Республіки та Західноукраїнської Народної Республіки.
Напередодні для школярів 5-11 класів Комунального закладу «Полтавська загальноосвітня школа І – ІІІ ступенів №23 Полтавської міської ради Полтавської області» були проведені тематичні уроки національно-патріотичного спрямування: «Єднання заради Незалежності», «Соборна мати Україна - одна на всіх, як оберіг», а також вікторина «Я знаю Україну!». Під час свята діти згадали важливий момент історичного минулого, а саме, що 22 січня 1919 року в Києві на Софійській площі було проголошено Акт Злуки (об’єднання) українських земель в єдину Україну, стверджувалось об’єднання двох тодішніх держав - УНР та ЗУНР, які постали на уламках Російської й Австро-Угорської імперій, - в єдину соборну Українську державу.
Кульмінацією відзначення цієї події в нашому навчальному закладі стало проведення флешмобу: «Україна вільна – Україна неподільна!». В актовій залі школи учні 1-4 класів створили символічне серце, тримаючи в руках синьо-жовті аркуші паперу, утворюючи прапор України. А учні старшої школи, тримаючи державний прапор, створили нерозривний символічний ланцюг єдності, щоб відчути дух дружби, свободи й гордості за свою державу.
Під час проведення урочистостей до Дня Соборності українських земель учні усвідомили, що це свято має глибоке історичне коріння, спирається на споконвічну мрію народу про власну незалежну соборну державу.
